Ok, June’s Guilty Pleasures is perfect for my dissertation writing just now. I’ve been likening the writing process to pulling teeth, and now I have the dentist’s office soundtrack to go with the analogy.

But really, I recognize more of the tunes than I thought I did at first (by name only), and I share some of the guilty pleasures. I remember when “Jesse’s Girl” was popular I always loved the line: wanna tell her that I love her but the point is probly moot. Oh yeah, poor Ricky. My biggest laugh comes from Klymaxx’s “I miss you.” Holy crap -- hadn’t recognized the artist, or even song title, but I TOTALLY remember this one. Good heavens. I’m assuming this is a downloaded song (or do you actually own it in your collection?!). And I’m guessing that the teeny-bopper songs came from Gnat, the alt-rock (is that even a correct characterization?) came from Theo. Is that right? And is that Bonnie Tyler song from the Footloose soundtrack? AND, lastly, I LOVE that “Feel So Good” one – I had no idea who sang it, or its title, but I was OBSESSED with that song when I first joined a local gym during my exam-prep (training) months. It really got me through those obsessive days.

At any rate, kudos for such emotional exhibitionism. I am loving it. I think the guilty pleasures idea would make an excellent sideburn, in fact (though I’m not actually suggesting it). It provides such insight, no? An interesting window into the Gnat/Theo dyad. In my next daydreaming moments I’ll compile my own list of guilty pleasure songs for posting here (indeed, no need to actually burn the CD).. To be continued, then.
